Amici di Emmaus launches the fundraising campaign “Stitching Distances is Possible!”

We aim to raise €100,000 by June to ensure we can continue our educational mission, both in Italy and Ukraine.

Three years have now passed since the Russian invasion, and the war has never ceased. The suffering deepens, and distances grow wider, but Amici di Emmaus remains committed to bringing a vision of peace amid this ongoing conflict. Over these three years, despite enormous challenges, Emmaus has not been silenced. Thanks to the generous support of many friends, we have continued to grow, remaining a stable presence and a beacon of hope for those we support in Italy and Ukraine.

Amici di Emmaus must stay strong, continuing as a cornerstone of hope and a reliable point of reference—both for those who fled to Italy and those who remain in Ukraine. The funds raised will enable us to keep making this possible, walking forward together, building and supporting even through hardship.

Only together can we succeed! Help us stitch distances back together!

There’s a thread that connects us.

An invisible thread that holds us together.

An indestructible thread that unites us.

On the borders of Europe stands a strong city, a courageous city: Kharkiv.

More than 2,500 kilometers separate it from Milan, yet despite this distance, we at Emmaus remain united. After three years of war, we are still together.

Emmaus is a community of faces, of stories.

Some remain in Ukraine, others have sought refuge in Italy.

A distance that seems insurmountable, that has become a wound.

Yet even through pain and fear, we are never truly far apart.

Every hug, every call, every caring gesture, every word reminds us daily of our friendship—of the only true companionship that matters.

And so, day by day, this thread continues weaving a network of relationships and love, a network that prevents us from falling, from sinking into the darkness of war.

With patience, with love, with hope… we are stitching distances back together.

Every message, every act of support, every gesture of solidarity is a thread reconnecting what has been broken.

Stitching distances is possible. Help us stay together!
